Good afternoon from the back deck at Fernandez Bay, Cat Island

Just ran from Bennett’s Harbour south to Fernandez Bay on Cat Island. We’re now about 2/3 of the way down Cat. The winds have eased a bit but are still gusty out of the East. Fernandez Bay is a cute little resort in a small bay sheltered from the East wind but very open to West winds. These are only seen when weather fronts come through and we are good here for a few days. I think tomorrow we’ll head on down to Fly Fish Marina on the tip of Cat Island and meet back up with “Family Business”

We’ve been cruising with Steve and Trisa and Steve Koch on “Family Business” for the last couple of weeks. They love to fish and they headed further south to get positioned to fish tomorrow. The Pohle’s don’t have a very big freezer so we don’t need to fish yet. Besides all we seem to do is feed the fish bait and gear with only modest success fishing.

Hey Steve, it’s not quite as good as Joy’s but it’s kind of fun to pay a little more attention to each day.

Fond memories of Cat Isl waiting out a frontal passage in that marina. We did the Hermitage, great wall dive on the south side, the fishing boats kept giving the girls their leftover fish and there was always a ton. And, one of the sport fisherman hooked into a massive shark at night out on the dock and we all gathered to watch the excitement that went on for an hour and eventually the shark won. so nice to see your comments … have fun.
